TRACTION FACTORY DESIGNS 50TH ANNIVERSARY JERSEYS TO BENEFIT SOWI
Our design boosted awareness and funds for SOWI athletes statewide.
Every autumn, millions of people pay respect to their lost friends and family members by observing the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
It’s a holiday rooted in uniting as a community, sharing and engaging in culture, and celebrating life and death. Later this month, we at Traction Factory will have the privilege of joining our neighbors in what is bound to be an excellent celebration.
On Saturday, October 28, our friends at Walker’s Point Association (WPA) will host the 8th Annual Día de los Muertos Festival in Walker Square Park from 10am-5pm.
The day begins with the Mayan and Aztec tradition of running or walking to honor the dead during a 5K run/walk, featuring hand-painted clay medals for all participants. Following the race, award ceremony and an afternoon peace vigil, the celebration continues with the building of a community ofrenda (offering) in the park, a parade, live music, dance performances and an art market. Throughout the day, food and drink will be available from Walker’s Point vendors and food trucks.
When we first heard about the festival, we jumped at the opportunity to support it. We partnered with WPA to design and print this year’s event publicity, provide digital marketing assistance, and offer strategic guidance to help make everything all come together. And with less than two weeks until the festival, we couldn’t be more excited.
Please consider joining us at the 5K starting line or celebrate with us in Walker Square Park for an afternoon of community, culture and celebration.
